About 450 English learners in EBR Schools — students who are learning English and have a native language other than English — continue to make strides by achieving proficiency on a standardized test that measures English language skills. This year, the district experienced a positive growth of over 2 percentage points, increasing proficiency from 8% to 10% on the English Language Proficiency Test. Additionally, the percentage of emerging students decreased from 36% to 34%. This achievement is particularly impressive, as it comes with nearly 100 more English learners in the district this year. These results highlight the dedication and hard work of our English as a Second Language teachers, paraprofessionals and content teachers. Congratulations to all our students and staff.
