Call to Order

Invocation led by School Board Member Dawn Collins, and Pledge of Allegiance led by School Board Member Jill Dyason.

Roll Call

Michael Gaudet and Connie Bernard were absent.

Others present were: Mr. Warren Drake, Superintendent; Mr. Domoine Rutledge, General Counsel; Mr. Adam Smith, Associate Superintendent; Mr. Ben Necaise, Associate Superintendent; Dr. Quentina Timoll, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction; Mrs. Andrea O’Konski, Chief Officer for Accountability and Assessments; Mr. James Crochet, Chief Officer for Business Operations; Mrs. Millie Williams, Chief Officer for Human Resources; and Mr. Gary Reese, Chief Officer for Student Support Services.

Items for Consideration

School Board President David Tatman opened the floor for nominations for Vice-President of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board.

Evelyn Ware-Jackson nominated Dr. Kenyetta Nelson-Smith.

Motion to close the floor for nominations for Vice-President of the East Baton Rouge School Board.

Motion by Vereta Lee, second by Dawn Collins.

Dr. Kenyetta Nelson-Smith was elected as Vice-President of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board by acclamation.

Professional Services Contract

Approval of a professional services contract between the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in the amount of $19,499.00 to provide professional development for Read 180 and Systems 44 teachers (remediation and interventions).

Motion by Mark Bellue, second by Evelyn Ware-Jackson.
