4-Special Meeting Minutes

A.    Meeting Opening

The meeting was called to order at 8:20 PM by School Board President Carla Powell.

Members present were Mark Bellue, Carla Powell Lewis, Shashonnie Steward, Cliff Lewis, Nathan Rust, Michael Gaudet, Emily Soulé, and Patrick Martin.

Dadrius Lanus was absent.

Others present were Adam Smith, Interim Superintendent; Gwynn Shamlin Jr., General Counsel; Andrea O’Konski, Chief of Accountability and Assessments; Shenoa Warren, Chief of Literacy; Stacey Dupre, Chief of Support and Special Projects; Nichola Hall, Chief of Human Resources; Kelly Lopez, Chief Financial Officer; James Crochet, Chief Business Operations Officer; John McCann, Interim Chief Operations Officer; and Marlon Cousin, Interim Administrative Director-Communications and Public Relations.

B. Items for Consideration

1. Superintendent Search Firm

Motion to authorize the Ad Hoc to approve a firm/consultant to manage the Superintendent Search and award, negotiate, and execute a contract.

Motion by Patrick Martin.

The motion was withdrawn.

Motion to authorize the Ad Hoc Committee to approve a firm/consultant to manage the Superintendent Search and award, negotiate, and execute a contract based on the scope of work.

Motion by Nathan Rust, second by Patrick Martin.

Motion Carries

2. Advertising for the EBR Superintendent Position

Approve the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Committee to approve the job description for the position of Superintendent of EBRPSS and to authorize the President to publish the notice of vacancy and advertisement with suggested amendments in the official journal as required by law and other platforms as requested by the Board, and to authorize staff to prepare an application that aligns with the requirements and to authorize the electronic/digital submission of applications in lieu of the use of a P.O. Box.

Motion by Shashonnie Steward, second by Nathan Rust.
