MAIL AND DELIVERY SERVICES

 

 

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board shall maintain a mail delivery system within the parish in order to direct mail, written communications, and other informational items to their intended destination in the most efficient method possible.

 

The mail delivery system shall be used for official business of the School System with the following three exceptions:

 

  1. Nonprofit, charitable organizations may request permission from the Public Information Officer for use of the mail system.  This excludes political or religious groups.

  2. School-related groups and organizations will be allowed to send meeting notices, provided they contain only the following information:

 

    1. name of organization

    2. date of meeting

    3. place of meeting

    4. time of meeting

    5. purpose and/or agenda

 

    Such groups and organizations must receive prior approval from the Public Information Officer.

 

  1. Employee organizations may use the mail delivery system for distribution of their newsletter on a monthly basis, one newsletter per month.

 

Denial of the use of the mail delivery system may be appealed, in writing, to the Chair of the School Operations Committee within two (2) weeks.

 

Any communication is subject to inspection prior to distribution.

 

Any person or organization found to violate the above policy may be prohibited from using the mail delivery system for a calendar year.
