Alexandra Deiro Stubbs, MBA

Chief Of Communications And Public Relations

After four years spent in front of the camera as an on-air reporter, Alex made the decision in 2014 to turn to work which would have a bigger impact on improving the lives of families and children in Louisiana by pursuing a career in non-profit and advocacy with Stand for Children Louisiana.
Alex graduated from the University of Illinois in 2010 with a B.S in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Spanish Language and went on to spend four years as an on-air reporter covering politics and education in both the Midwest and South Louisiana. It was through her work as a reporter that she truly began to understand the importance of high-quality educational opportunities for all children and ultimately made the decision to transition into the parent and family engagement space by accepting a role at the Marketing and Communications Director and later the Educator Advocacy Manager with Stand for Children Louisiana.
As a 2019 graduate of the highly competitive Executive Flores LSU M.B.A., Alex has been able to apply the skills and knowledge of the private sector to her role in the non-profit and advocacy space.
During her time at Stand for Children Louisiana, Alex lead some of the organizations most successful state-wide digital media campaigns, more than doubled on and off-line engagement, and helped lead successful local campaigns which have resulted in millions of dollars’ worth of investment in early childhood education.
In her new role, Alex leads the communications and family and community engagement departments with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System where she has been tasked with building out and scaling a parent and community engagement strategy from scratch.
Alex is married to Thomas Stubbs Jr. and is proud stepmother to Thomas and Kennedy. An active member of the Junior League of Baton Rouge, Alex has also served on multiple state level commissions and workgroups.
