President David Tatman

David Tatman joined the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in January of 2011 as the representative of the newly formed District 1, which covered portions of the Southeast area of East Baton Rouge Parish. David was elected President of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in January of 2013. As President, David led a broad-based community effort to create and implement a strategic plan, that provided a long-term vision for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. David also led a successful effort to reduce the size of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board from 11 members to 9 members. David was elected again in 2014 without opposition to represent the newly formed District 1.  David was again elected to serve a second term as President of the Board in 2015 and a third term in 2018.

Mr. Tatman currently serves as a BREC Commissioner and a member of the Louisiana Education Television Authority (LPB). Mr. Tatman is a member of the Louisiana Business and Industry, Louisiana Society of Association Executives, Public Relations Association of Louisiana and serves as the Executive Director of the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists. Over the years, Mr. Tatman served on various boards and community organization like Capital Area American Red Cross, the East Baton Rouge Committee for Educational Excellence, the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists (Past President). Mr. Tatman has received numerous state and national awards for his professional achievement and is recognized as a leader in his profession. Mr. Tatman earned his Black Belt in Karate and is in the process of section hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Mr. Tatman is married to Maria Battaglia Tatman and they have three beautiful children, Carley Angela, Morgan Elizabeth and David Mark Tatman, Jr.

David is the President of The Tatman Group, a full-service government relations and association management consulting firm founded in 1997. Through his firm, David and his team represents a broad-base of clients in legislative and regulatory matters in Louisiana and Washington, DC.

David is also an actor and filmmaker and a partner in OffScript Productions, a Louisiana-based film production company. OffScript Productions specializes in film and video production.  David is married to Maria Battaglia Tatman and they have three children, Carley Angela Tatman, Morgan Elizabeth Tatman, and David Mark Tatman, Jr. Maria and David live in Baton Rouge and are members of the St. George Catholic Church Community.

Graphic Design

The Graphic Arts Department has the resources to produce whatever you need in terms of printed products and can do so at a lower cost than other printing agencies. With our offset and digital equipment, we have fast turnaround times and are capable of doing static and variable data printing. We can print posters, banners, wood, and plastic signs at sizes up to 4 feet wide. We have a designer on staff who can help you make your print jobs have a professional look and we have access to thousands of copyright free photos and clip art files for you to use.

School Safety & Security

The Office of School Safety and Security consist of Sheriff’s Deputies from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. These School Resource Officers work on school campuses and site of the school system to provide safety and security for students and personnel. The School Resource Officers also maintain lines of communication with the students, staff, and the community.
