East Baton Rouge Parish School System Enrichment Instructional Resources Guidance

In lieu of a distance education program, the district is providing optional enrichment instructional resources that can be utilized to support student learning at home. These resources are available for students in grades Pre-K through 12. The resources span core content areas – ELA, math, science and social studies.

Student Enrichment Instructional Resources

  • EBR Website – EBR has created a one-stop shop for students, parents, and educators to locate quality resources to continue learning enrichment at home.
  • NEW Louisiana Department of Education – Resources released by the Louisiana Department of Education are developed by the department in partnership with Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB). Click here to access the online hub which includes links to High-Quality Curriculum Resources.
  • NEW Enrichment Reading Log and Support Questions – The district recommends that students have a dedicated time each day to read and that time can be logged with the optional Enrichment Reading Log. Click here to access the reading log and support questions. This document is downloadable to print or editable online.

Dual Enrollment CoursesIndividual schools will be working with their teams to address options for Dual Enrollment courses based on guidance received from our local colleges and universities.

Khan Academy K-8 Khan Academy is an online resource offering practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. Students can practice math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Khan Academy’s math missions can guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps.

LearnZillion K-8 LearnZillion is the platform for accessing EL Education (K-2) ELA and Guidebooks (3-8). LearnZillion provides a library of interactive language arts lessons, videos, quizzes, and assignments for students. LearnZillion tracks student progress and achievement on the lessons and quizzes and reports the results to the teacher’s dashboard for assessment.

NoRedInk 6-12 NoRedInk provides students with opportunities to practice their grammar and writing skills through various interactive activities.

Studies Weekly K-5 Studies Weekly is an online platform available to all teachers and students in K-5 featuring Social Studies content. Students use the platform to delve deeper into history through 100K+ primary source images and videos. Students can also access specialized tools such as an audio reader, highlighting tools and a rewards system.

Zearn K-5 Zearn is an online math curriculum for grades one through five, with supplemental skills practice activities for kindergartners. Students have access to a dashboard with tasks to be completed; these include a variety of fluency warm-ups that promote general number sense and lesson-specific skills.

Parental Instructions for Student Receiving Occupational (OT) and/or Physical Therapy (PT):

  • Parents of students receiving Occupational (OT) or Physical Therapy (PT) will be contacted directly by their child’s therapist(s). Parents who have been contacted can pick up resources at the Goodwood Administrative Center, Wednesday, March 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 2:00PM.

Our school district currently has a subscription to Kurzweil3000, which is a comprehensive literacy, text-to speech technology that can help students to read, comprehend, study, write, and take tests. This technology can give students access to their literacy supports as well as their documents from virtually any internet connected device (computer, tablet, phone, Chromebook).
