Dr. C. Michael Robinson, Jr., a Louisiana native, serves as Chief Academic Officer for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System since February 2021. With over two decades spent in education, he began his career as an elementary and a junior high school English/Language Arts teacher in Lafourche Parish School System where he was born and raised. He prides himself on his Louisiana upbringing, crediting it for shaping the man he is today. After leaving Louisiana for several years at an early age, Dr. Robinson has worked as a teacher in Texas as a middle school teacher, high school assistant principal, as well as serving as an elementary turnaround principal in Georgia. He then went on to become a middle school turnaround principal, Director of Priority Schools and Instructional Director in Prince George’s County Public Schools, Maryland. He later served as the Superintendent of Schools in Pine Bluff School District, Arkansas.
Before coming to East Baton Rouge Parish School System as the Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Robinson worked as an educational consultant. He has also presented at national conferences on equity, teaching boys vs. girls, and educating black and brown males. He is also spends his spare time as a Life Coach. Robinson believes that victories begin in the classroom. “Every scholar deserves an equitable and rigorous educational experience that provides access to all.”
Dr. Robinson completed his superintendent certification at the University of Texas at Permian Basin. He also attended the Urban Superintendent Academy at the University of Southern California at Rossier and completed two other superintendent academy programs. He earned his Ed. D. and Ed. S. in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida. Additionally, he holds a master’s in educational leadership from Troy State University; BS in Elementary Education grades K – 8; and additional course work in English Education from Southern University at New Orleans.
With over 21 years of experience in education, he credits his passion for education to his mother, who was a teacher, and also sources inspiration from Marva Collins, who was a Chicago public school teacher known for eliminating barriers and using innovative learning techniques. Robinson implemented many of those methodologies in his teaching and leadership style. He has also been an online adjunct instructor for Grand Canyon University and served as an adjunct instructor at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Dr. Robinson is a learner and enjoys opportunities to harness his skills and knowledge.
Dr. Robinson is a published author and is completing his second book that encompasses work around educating minority males. In addition, he’s working on a leadership development manual for principals and a manual for beginning teachers. Dr. Robinson is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Prince Hall F & A Mason, NAACP, and other professional organizations. He is also a former Rotarian and a former member of Kiwanis. One of his many accolades is the Outstanding Educator Award – Community Empowerment Council Emergency Shelter, received in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Dr. Robinson is a man of profound faith and spirituality. He is not ashamed of the gospel and attributes everything he has ever accomplished to God and his parents. He enjoys spending time with his mother and his shitzu, London-Shane. When time permits, Dr. Robinson writes, researches, plays tennis, bowls, skates, travels, golfs and loves to be around water.
The Finance Department provides oversight to the payroll, benefits, accounts payable, grants, and property control functions for the school system while maintaining compliance with generally accepted accounting principals and all applicable laws.

The Graphic Arts Department has the resources to produce whatever you need in terms of printed products and can do so at a lower cost than other printing agencies. With our offset and digital equipment, we have fast turnaround times and are capable of doing static and variable data printing. We can print posters, banners, wood, and plastic signs at sizes up to 4 feet wide. We have a designer on staff who can help you make your print jobs have a professional look and we have access to thousands of copyright free photos and clip art files for you to use.

School Safety & Security
The Office of School Safety and Security consist of Sheriff’s Deputies from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. These School Resource Officers work on school campuses and site of the school system to provide safety and security for students and personnel. The School Resource Officers also maintain lines of communication with the students, staff, and the community.
