EBR Schools Announce Graduation Date

May. 18 2020

It brings the East Baton Rouge Parish School System great joy to announce that modified in-person graduation ceremonies will be held for the 2020 graduating seniors. EBRPSS High School principals have worked tirelessly, exploring all available possibilities, to recognize this momentous rite of passage. Each year, it is the district’s proudest privilege and honor to celebrate seniors as they cross the stage and embark on their next journey.

Making the commencement exercises safe and memorable for all will require collaboration among everyone involved. In accordance with the governor’s phase-1 reopening guidance, strict health precautions must be observed to ensure all official social distancing requirements are followed. Facility capacity will be limited to 25%, therefore, this could mean fewer tickets issued per family. PPE’s will be mandatory and must be worn at all times. Attendees may also undergo temperature scans. Please note that all graduation activities could be subject to change if further health risks emerge. Attendance for graduates is optional and the district is working to provide video recordings and/or a video live stream for those that cannot be present. High School principals will be communicating all additional ceremony plans and details in the coming days.
