Eight EBR Teachers Receive Kelly Gene Cook (Deborah Rochelle Teacher Grant) Awards

Eight EBR teachers received Kelly Gene Cook (Deborah Rochelle Teacher Grant) Awards to fund instructional, research-based projects providing direct instruction to students.  The Kelly Gene Cook Charitable Foundation has been awarding grants to East Baton Rouge Parish teachers since 1991. 

The Kelly Gene Cook Sr. Charitable Foundation was created in 1986 and funds a variety of scholarship and grants programs. Deborah Rochelle established the Deborah Rochelle Teacher Grant program in 1991 to focus grant opportunities specifically for classroom teachers. Grants are awarded to teachers in amounts not to exceed $3,500 per award.

This year there were eight recipients with grants that totaled $24,313.00. The recipients are listed below.
