To reiterate our schedule for return, we are asking all employees to report to work Monday, August 22 for our PreK and Kindergarten students their return date will be Monday, August 29 the first day back for all other students in grades 1-12 will be Wednesday, August 24.
While we would like every student in school on their designated return date, we know this may not be feasible for all of our families. Please know that principals have been directed to work with you on an individual basis regarding reasonable flood-related absences. If you believe your child will be unable to attend school because of this natural disaster, please inform the principal of your child’s school as soon as possible.
We are anticipating a significant number of transportation changes for the first days back in school. Consequently, we are asking families to assist us by making sure that all elementary students have the following information sent with the when they return: their name, school, current address, and a current emergency contact telephone number.
Parents who have students in the 8 relocated sites will be receiving additional information from your school’s principal. Stay tuned to area media, the district website and Facebook page for the latest information, or call 225-922-5400 if we can be of any assistance.
