Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System Names Executive Director

February 10, 2016Baton Rouge, La. Keila Stovall has been named executive director of the Foundation for EBRSS.  She succeeds Janet Pace, who has been executive director since February 2014.

“It is an honor to be given the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children as Executive Director of the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System,” says Stovall. It will be a privilege to lead an organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of public schools and strengthening relationships between the school district and the community,” Stovall added.

“We’re thrilled to have Keila join our team. She has a demonstrated passion and commitment to serving children and the capacity to strategically guide the foundation to greater heights,” said Ted Firnberg, Board President for FEBRSS.

Stovall is leaving her current position as the President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana, a position she has held since 2014 after serving as the Executive Vice President of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Baton Rouge the previous six years.   Prior to this, she was the Vice President Philanthropy, Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank; Vice President Major Gifts and Planning Giving, Capital Area United Way; and the Coordinator of Volunteers, Baton Rouge Symphony.  She also previously served on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Baton Rouge as the Administrative Vice President in addition to serving in voluntary leadership positions with multiple community organizations in the Baton Rouge area.

“She brings with her a wealth of experience in the nonprofit area, and an extensive knowledge of the Baton Rouge community,” said Superintendent Warren Drake. I am excited to see her dynamic leadership at work to carry out the Foundation’s mission of generating private support for high-impact programs in our schools,” added Drake.

Keila earned a Bachelors of Arts in Communications from Baylor University in 1987 and is a graduate of the Global Institute for Leadership Development and the Advanced Leadership Program at Clemson University.
