Mayor Holden to Declare Elvis the Penguin Week

Baton Rouge, LA – Students at University Terrace Elementary School will kick of the celebration of the message of “Elvis the Penguin” in East Baton Rouge Parish School System Thursday with a visit from Mayor Melvin “Kip” Holden and “Elvis the Penguin” author Kara Casanova who will read from her book. The event is a part of ICARE’s efforts to engage local authors and develop curriculum addressing topics related to the group’s mission of preventing bullying, violence, and substance abuse.  “Elvis the Penguin” Day kicks off at 10 a.m. at University Terrace Elementary located at 575 W Roosevelt St. Mayor Holden will issue a proclamation for Elvis the Penguin Week October 12-16.
