DRUG- FREE WORKPLACE

 

 

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, recognizes its obligation to provide and maintain a drug-free workplace in order to remain eligible to receive federal grants and in support of local, state and national efforts to achieve drug-free schools and communities.

 

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board hereby notifies all employees that, as a condition of employment under the grant, all employees will abide by School Board policy, regulations and procedures.  Further, any employee who is convicted of a violation of a criminal drug statute for an offense occurring in the work place, must notify the Superintendent and/or designee no later than five (5) days after the conviction.  The Superintendent and/or designee will then notify the granting agency within ten (10) days after receiving such notice from an employee or otherwise receiving actual notice of such conviction.

 

In addition, employees must comply with School Board policy GBRA, Employee Conduct regarding reporting of criminal proceedings including drug offenses.
