Under the leadership of Nanette McCann, Baton Rouge Magnet High School has become the beacon of education among private and public high schools in the state of Louisiana. Under her leadership at BRMHS, she has earned numerous awards: local, state and national, including National Magnet Principal of the Year and Louisiana State Principal of the Year. Because of her leadership and guidance, BRMHS has become a model for character education as well as academic success. She has a commitment to excellence, which is evident not only in the outstanding performance of her students but the professional success of her staff. She has led the school in receiving two National Blue Ribbon Awards and Magnet Schools of America TOP School of Excellence Awards.
Principal McCann is not the only outstanding leader at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, Associate Principals Mr. Shaun Feinberg, Edward Hunter, and Tashonda Key also makeup the Administrative team.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is advising families that school bus transportation may experience delays during the Friday afternoon commute home because of weather and road conditions across the parish. Transportation staff members are working to safely transport students while navigating possible heavy traffic, flooded areas and impacted roadways caused by
changing weather conditions.
District officials said student safety remains the top priority as drivers continue routes throughout the parish. The district appreciates the understanding and cooperation of families and the community during the weather event.
