Meet Our Principal

Welcome to Northeast High School, a place where every student is valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed. It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I serve as Principal of Northeast High School and work alongside our dedicated faculty, staff, families, and community partners to provide exceptional opportunities for all students. At Northeast High School, our mission is to foster a safe and engaging learning community that develops intrinsically motivated students who thrive academically, athletically, emotionally, and socially as responsible citizens prepared for success in college, careers, and life. We believe that every student deserves access to meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our vision is to empower all students to become responsible, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners who embrace diversity and positively impact their communities and the world around them. Through leadership development, academic rigor, artistic expression, athletic participation, and social growth, we are committed to helping students reach their fullest potential.

As Principal, I am honored to lead this high school with a renewed focus on academic excellence, athletic achievement, and performing arts distinction. Our goal is to provide every student with multiple opportunities to discover their passions, develop their talents, and pursue their dreams. Whether students excel in the classroom, on the athletic field, on the stage, or through community service, we are committed to supporting their individual journeys toward success.

I am thrilled to lead a school community that is both hungry for success and deeply committed to the well-being of students. Our outstanding teachers, coaches, counselors, and support staff work diligently to provide rigorous and engaging learning experiences that challenge students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and reach their highest potential. We strive to create an environment where students are intrinsically motivated to achieve excellence and develop the confidence necessary to become leaders in their chosen paths.

The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported. Through strong relationships, proactive safety measures, collaboration with families and community partners, and a focus on students’ social-emotional well-being, we work each day to ensure that Northeast High School is a place where students can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence. A safe school climate is essential to academic success, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting and supporting every member of our school community.

Our cornerstones: Student Achievement, Customer Service, Operational Excellence, and Employee Development, guide every decision we make. Together with our core values of hard work, kindness, responsibility, respect for diversity, and excellence, these principles help shape a positive school culture where all students can grow and succeed.
We recognize that student success is a shared responsibility. Every member of our team, from educators and staff to families and community stakeholders, plays a vital role in supporting our students. Through strong partnerships and open communication, we are committed to meeting the unique needs of every learner while fostering strong character, resilience, and academic achievement.

As we continue our mission, we remain focused on preparing students not only to be consumers of knowledge but also producers of innovation and positive change. We want our graduates to leave Northeast High School equipped to become scholars, professionals, problem-solvers, and engaged citizens who contribute meaningfully to their communities locally, nationally, and globally.

I invite you to explore the many opportunities available at Northeast High School and join us in shaping the next generation of leaders, innovators, scholars, and lifelong learners. Together, we will continue to build a student-centered learning environment that meets the evolving needs of our community while ensuring that every student is empowered to achieve greatness.

Thank you for your support of Northeast High School. I look forward to partnering with you as we inspire excellence, foster growth, and prepare our students for a bright and successful future.

With pride and purpose,

Dr. John Jenkins, Jr.
