The purpose of this document is to guide the enrollment processes for the following Capitol High School student groups:
Rising 9th Graders – Priority Zone
Rising 9th Graders – Focus Choice Program (applied, accepted and assigned)
Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th Graders – Priority Zone (currently enrolled in EBR schools)
Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th Graders – Currently enrolled in CHS
Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th Graders (currently in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades, respectively) who are currently enrolled at Capitol High School will complete the ORS enrollment process to continue attending Capitol High School. An override will be entered for students who reside outside of the priority zone to ensure they are not placed at their zoned school during the rollover, but at Capitol High. The Online Registration System (ORS) will link the previous record of students who have an inactive record in the system with the new record to prevent duplicates.
The ORS registration process requires the following documents to be uploaded before the application can be submitted.
Rising 9th Graders (currently in 8th grade) who reside in the Capitol High School priority zone will be zoned to attend Capitol High School as their home school. EBRPSS SIS Team will include these students in the routine roll over process.
There is no action for parents/guardians to take.
The Office of Innovative Programs will assign these students to the Focus Choice Program at Capitol High School and input Capitol High School as the next building (add next building school code). This ensures students assigned to the Focus Choice Program at Capitol High who reside outside of the priority zone will not be placed at their zoned school during the rollover, but at Capitol High as assigned.
These students will complete the ORS (Online Registration System) enrollment process with the Capitol High School access code, chs.
Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th Graders who reside in the priority zone and are currently enrolled in other EBR high schools may request an Administrative Transfer (beginning June 15th) to enroll at Capitol High School. Students who prefer to remain at their current high school will remain zoned as such and require no further action.
