VDR Creative Sciences & Arts Magnet School features an innovative Pre-K – 2nd grade STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Math) program. The school’s SmartLab allows students in all grades to engage in digital communications, mechanics and structures, robotics, software engineering, 3D printing, sustainability, and more. Our newest campus addition is our Makerspace which provides students with exciting, hands-on opportunities to think critically, solve problems, and bring their ideas to life. Using a variety of building materials, engineering kits, technology, and creative tools, students engage in the Engineering Design Process to design, build, test, and improve solutions to real-world challenges. Through collaboration, innovation, and exploration, students develop creativity, perseverance, and the problem-solving skills needed for future success.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is advising families that school bus transportation may experience delays during the Friday afternoon commute home because of weather and road conditions across the parish. Transportation staff members are working to safely transport students while navigating possible heavy traffic, flooded areas and impacted roadways caused by
changing weather conditions.
District officials said student safety remains the top priority as drivers continue routes throughout the parish. The district appreciates the understanding and cooperation of families and the community during the weather event.
