Park Forest Elementary Creative Sciences & Arts Magnet is committed to cultivating an interactive project-based learning community where students are actively engaged in discovering how to preserve our environment with an emphasis on Renewable Energy and Water Conservation. Daily hands-on, inquiry-based learning opportunities will allow students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. In addition, the integration of Entertainment Technology and Film coursework will allow our students to become creative, innovative learners who are eager to embrace and capture their learning experiences while discovering their talents and interests through their immersion in technology and STEM.
The integration of Entertainment Technology, including film, photography, and music allows students to become more creative, innovative learners. Students are introduced to audio engineering and video production through the use of hands-on projects in the audio lab and media center.
Our Creative Smart Lab encourages project-based learning for our students in Robotics, Engineering, and Coding.
ROBOTICS
Students learn to read diagrams and build specs for several different kinds of robots, including Sphero, Lego, Wedo, Spike, and more!
ENGINEERING
Students learn the fundamentals of engineerings by learning how to build 2D and 3D shapes, then print their custom creations using 3D printers.
CODING
Students begin in kindergarten learning how to use several types of devices and use a variety of apps to learn block-based coding to JavaScript and HTML.

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is advising families that school bus transportation may experience delays during the Friday afternoon commute home because of weather and road conditions across the parish. Transportation staff members are working to safely transport students while navigating possible heavy traffic, flooded areas and impacted roadways caused by
changing weather conditions.
District officials said student safety remains the top priority as drivers continue routes throughout the parish. The district appreciates the understanding and cooperation of families and the community during the weather event.
