Mrs. Callegan is honored to serve as the principal of Shenandoah Elementary School. She has always had a deep love for children and learning, and her passion for education has guided her journey every step of the way. A natural-born leader, she spent 13 wonderful years in the classroom before moving into school leadership. She earned several accomplishments during her tenure in the classroom.
She was selected by her peers as Woodlawn Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year during the 2018-2019 school year. A few years later, she earned Mentor Teacher of the Year for the entire district in 2021-2022. She served two years as assistant principal at Mayfair Laboratory school before being appointed the principal of Shenandoah.
Mrs. Callegan earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University in 2004 and later continued her education by earning her master’s degree in educational leadership.
She is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Shenandoah family and is committed to create a school where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Some of her favorite memories as a young girl are playing school in her garage at home. She still feels so lucky to be living out that childhood dream.

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is advising families that school bus transportation may experience delays during the Friday afternoon commute home because of weather and road conditions across the parish. Transportation staff members are working to safely transport students while navigating possible heavy traffic, flooded areas and impacted roadways caused by
changing weather conditions.
District officials said student safety remains the top priority as drivers continue routes throughout the parish. The district appreciates the understanding and cooperation of families and the community during the weather event.
