Welcome to

At Dufrocq, we advocate the importance of the visual arts in the development of our curriculum.

The Dufrocq School is the school where “the pursuit of learning begins.” Our vision
is that all students succeed academically and are empowered and prepared for global success. We do this in a variety of ways through our traditional and magnet programs. We take pride in being one of only two schools in the EBR school district that provides Montessori instruction. MicroSociety is our school’s overarching theme that unites all of our academic programs with real-life learning experiences. Our strong community partnerships and support from our families are our strength. We are also proud to be a certified magnet school and a 2022 Magnet School of Excellence.

“Hard work pays off even if it is generations later.”  Being an educator is a calling. The work is hard and sometimes the reward is not always immediate. I do know that what we are doing in the day-to-day work for the students is making a difference. Where we may see a student struggling today to read a story in class, the “light-bulb” moment finally happens by the end of the school year. When we wonder if the lessons and words of advice are making a difference in a child’s life now, the reward may be seen later as that child moves into adulthood, pursuing their own calling and career. How awesome is the feeling of knowing that one day, a student we taught and led may in turn lead the country or the world!
