Five graduates from Baton Rouge Magnet High School’s Class of 2026 have been named recipients of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities.
The scholarship recipients are Olivia Bryant, Charlotte Carpenter, Isha Pasala, Nicolas Peer and Brianna Warren.
These prestigious awards provide annual scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 for up to four years of undergraduate study at the sponsoring institutions.
The Baton Rouge High graduates are among 6,700 high school seniors nationwide selected to receive National Merit Scholarships this year. Collectively, the scholarships awarded through the program total nearly $24 million.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the nation’s most prestigious academic recognition programs. Students advance through a highly competitive selection process that begins with the PSAT/NMSQT and includes a comprehensive review of academic performance, extracurricular involvement, leadership, recommendations and future educational goals.
The achievements of the Baton Rouge High students reflect the strength of the school’s rigorous academic programs and the dedication of its students, educators and families.
