Building Strong Foundations: EBR Schools’ PreK–2 Early Learning Model

EBR Schools is putting early learning first! Through its PreK–2 Early Learning Model, the district is prioritizing early intervention, small-group instruction and individualized support to help students build strong academic foundations.

“Here we’re really able to target that focus on it and have our kids prepared. That’s when we know we are successful.”

The impact is showing. According to the state literacy screener, 62% of K–3 students finished the 2025–26 school year reading on or above grade level, up from 48% at the beginning of the year. This 14-percentage-point increase marks a milestone for EBR Schools, with the highest percentage of students reading on or above grade level to date.

By investing in students early, EBR Schools is working to close learning gaps, strengthen literacy and prepare students for success in the classroom and beyond.
