National Business Publication Names EBR Schools One of the State’s Best-Managed School Districts

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System has been recognized by Business View Magazine as one of the state’s Best Managed School Districts.

Business View is also considering EBR Schools for Best Managed American School Districts for its 2026 awards.

Alex “Xan” Wynne-Jones, managing director of Business View Publishing, said EBR Schools’ management practices reflect a clear focus on measurable performance and long-term district success.

“Business View Publishing is happy to award East Baton Rouge Parish School System as one of Louisiana’s Best Managed School Districts for its strong, results-driven leadership and disciplined approach to improving student outcomes,” Wynne-Jones said. “The district’s emphasis on strategic planning, accountability, and effective resource management helps ensure the schools are supported and continuous progress is sustained.”

The recognition follows the publication’s February 2026 feature on EBR Schools, titled “Students at the Helm: Setting a Higher Standard for Real-World Readiness.”

“The district’s work reflects a deliberate shift toward long-term thinking, where academic achievement, workforce readiness, and student belief are treated as inseparable priorities,” the article stated.

Under the leadership of Superintendent LaMont Cole, the district’s commitment is that “every student deserves the opportunity to learn well, feel safe and pursue pathways that lead to meaningful futures.”

The feature highlighted several areas of the district’s work, including community engagement, organizational realignment, teacher recruitment, balancing technology, workforce development, accountability and investment in enhancing the high school experience beyond the classroom.
