The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is inviting families to register for its annual “Gifted Screening Blitz,” a two-day event designed to identify students who may benefit from gifted and advanced academic programming.
The Blitz will be held at 8:30 a.m. June 8-9 by appointment. The screening is open to any student entering kindergarten through 12th grade who lives in the district’s attendance zone. Students will be screened for possible placement in the Scholastic Academy or Great Scholars Academy programs, with the goal of qualifying for gifted services following a comprehensive evaluation.
“We know that giftedness and academic talent can be found in students from all backgrounds and communities,” said Harelda Wallace, gifted curriculum resource coordinator for the Gifted & Talented Department. “The Gifted Screening Blitz helps us identify students who may benefit from advanced learning opportunities and connect them with programs that challenge and support their growth.”
Parents may register for an appointment by visiting ebrgifted.org or https://bit.ly/2026GScreeningBlitz. After registering, participants will receive an email with their appointment time and screening location.
