The “Eighteen Under 18″ campaign is in your hands.
On Sept. 8, EBR Schools launched “Eighteen Under 18,” a new districtwide recognition campaign designed to spotlight 18 exceptional students of all ages. EBR Schools invites students, families, educators, employees and community members to nominate students 18 years old or younger who are making their mark in their schools, communities or areas of personal passion.
Nominations will close Sept. 18. The “Eighteen Under 18” honorees will be announced to the public in November.
“Eighteen Under 18 gives us an opportunity to shine a light on the remarkable young people in EBR Schools who are chasing excellence,” said Taylor Gast, EBR Schools administrative director of Communications and Public Relations. “We have so many amazing students using their talents and creating meaningful change in their schools and communities. We want to celebrate not only what they have accomplished, but the courage, purpose and determination they are showing at such a young age. Their stories remind us that you don’t have to wait to make an impact. You just have to dare to begin.”
Nominees may include academic standouts, athletes, artists and creators, leaders and changemakers, entrepreneurs and innovators, STEM and career-ready students, community contributors and rising stars.
Selection will focus on the full story of each student, rather than simply grades, awards or popularity. A district selection committee will review eligible nominations based on five areas:
- Accomplishments and achievements
- Impact and leadership
- Initiative, drive and innovation
- Growth, perseverance and potential
- Overall story and distinction
Nominees must:
- Be 18 years old or younger
- Be currently enrolled in EBR Schools
- Have a complete nomination submitted by September 18
- Have parent/guardian permission to participate and be featured if selected
- Be in good standing with the district
Students may nominate themselves or be nominated by a classmate, parent, guardian, teacher, school employee, community member or anyone who believes the student deserves to be recognized.
The 18 students selected may be featured in EBR Schools publications, websites, social media, videos, billboards and other district communications and promotional materials.
