EBR Schools Events to Connect Prospective Workers to Job Opportunities

The EBR Schools Division of Human Resources will host a series of community events to connect prospective employees with job opportunities and introduce community members to career pathways throughout EBR Schools.

The Connect2Succeed and Educator Career Awareness events will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at four East Baton Rouge Parish Library locations:

  • Sept. 17 — Goodwood Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.
  • Oct. 8 — Scotlandville Library, 7373 Scenic Highway.
  • Nov. 12 — Bluebonnet Library, 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd.
  • Dec. 9 — Fairwood Library, 12910 Old Hammond Highway.

“The locations are intentional, as we are working to spread the message throughout the parish and ensure that these opportunities are accessible to as many people as possible,” said Edward Roberts, recruitment manager for EBR Schools Human Resources.

Connect2Succeed is designed for individuals interested in applying for positions with EBR Schools. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive assistance completing an application.
  • Review required documents and next steps.
  • Receive interview preparation and guidance.
  • Meet with the EBR Schools Human Resources team.

Recruitment will focus on opportunities throughout the school system, particularly positions in high need, including teachers, paraprofessionals, transportation staff and clerical personnel.

Educator Career Awareness is designed for community members and current EBR Schools employees interested in learning more about careers in education.

Participants will:

  • Learn about instructional and support careers.
  • Explore pathways into the education profession.
  • Learn about educator preparation opportunities, including Teach EBR.
  • Discover how their skills can make a difference in the lives of students.

“Our major goals are to recruit candidates across the system and provide information about the different educator pathways available, including Teach EBR, so individuals can determine which pathway may be the best fit for them,” Roberts said.
