The EBR Schools Magnet Programs, in partnership with the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, invite families to Magnet Mania 2026 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the museum, 100 S. River Road.
This free event gives families the opportunity to meet representatives from all 31 EBR magnet programs, explore the variety of themes, enjoy student performances and demonstrations, and receive free admission to LASM for the event.
Families can discover programs in STEM, visual and performing arts, Montessori education, world languages, broadcast communications, digital media, engineering, health sciences, advanced academics and more while talking directly with the educators and students who bring these programs to life.
Families attending Magnet Mania will also have the chance to win a magnet seat at the eligible school of their choice for the 2027-28 school year, provided the student meets the program’s eligibility requirements.
Magnet Mania kicks off Magnet Showcase Week (Oct. 5–8), which allows families to visit magnet campuses, experience programs and learn more before making their selections on the magnet application. The 2027-28 Priority Application Period opens Oct. 14, giving families time to explore their options through Magnet Mania and Showcase Week before applying.

ADMISSION: Admission to the event and LASM is free. Free parking will be available in the Raising Cane’s River Center parking garage, with complimentary bus shuttles transporting families to and from LASM throughout the event.
