Three EBR Schools teachers were selected as regional winners in the Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge. They are: Sheila Bryant, Park Forest Elementary Creative Sciences and Arts Magnet School; Nikita LaCour, Scotlandville Pre-Engineering Magnet Academy; and Tyler Colson, Eva Legard Center for Coastal and Environmental Studies. Colson, Bryant and LaCour are among the 24 regional winners who will receive a $20,000 school science lab makeover support package. They advance to the national phase for a chance to win an additional $5,000 of support to attend a future NSTA National Conference.
Sponsored by Shell USA, Inc. and administered by the National Science Teaching Association, the competition encouraged K–12 science teachers who have found innovative ways to deliver quality lab experiences with limited school and laboratory resources to share their approaches for a chance to win a school science lab makeover support package.
