EBR Schools, Southern University increase security measures for graduation ceremonies

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System and Southern University are heightening awareness and security measures for the remaining EBR Schools Class of 2026 graduation ceremonies following incidents of inappropriate behavior during ceremonies on May 18.

To ensure the safety of all attendees and maintain the dignity of these important celebrations, no one will be allowed on campus without a valid ticket. In addition, there will be a heightened law enforcement presence, and anyone exhibiting disruptive behavior will be subject to removal and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

We are committed to ensuring that graduation remains a special, memorable and respectful occasion for all graduates and their loved ones. We appreciate the public’s cooperation and understanding as we work together to provide a safe environment for everyone attending these celebrations.
