Chief Of Accountability, Assessment & Evaluation

Andrea Miller O’Konski serves as the Chief Officer of Accountability, Assessment and Evaluation for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. This division of the school system oversees district, state and federal testing requirements; implementation of internal assessment programs; coordination of competitive grants; student information systems and state data reporting; student enrollment and attendance zone assignments; district accreditation; and data, information and research coordination and requests. She also represents the school system as a school board member, appointed by legislation, for Thrive Academy, a special state school located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

With over twenty-five years of service, Mrs. O’Konski has spent the greater part of her life serving the students and families of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. As a highly qualified and secondary certified English teacher, she has taught all levels of students from grades 7-12, and received numerous awards for exemplary teaching including being named as a district finalist for teacher of the year honors. With a focus on continuous improvement, data driven decision making, customer service and leading by example, Mrs. O’Konski has risen through the ranks with quality and impactful experiences as a district administrator. Prior to her current role as the district’s Chief Accountability Officer, she has proudly served in the following positions: Title I Coordinator of Instruction, Director of Elementary Programs, Executive Director for School Leadership (Elementary & High School Divisions), and Chief of Academic Programs (supervising curriculum, instruction professional development, and career and technical education departments as well as charter school portfolio management). In each of these roles, Mrs. O’Konski has a proven track record of noteworthy accomplishments with a positive impact on student achievement and organizational effectiveness.

A native of Abbeville, Louisiana, Andrea Miller O’Konski is a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Holmes Program earning a Master’s of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature, both from LSU. Additionally, she holds lifelong teaching certification through continuous service and Educational Leader I, II, & III level endorsements inclusive of a superintendent certification from the Louisiana Department of Education. As a champion for all students across the district, Mrs. O’Konski believes in the quality experiences, foundational skills, academic readiness and career opportunities that the East Baton Rouge Parish School System affords to all of its students having witnessed it in both her personal and professional life. Mrs. O’Konski is the wife of a graduate of EBR schools. Together, they are the proud parents of two children.
