Child Nutrition Program Offers Free Summer Meals to Students

Thousands of students are enjoying their summer break, but the three-month lull often leaves kids without a nutritious meal.  The EBRPSS’ Child Nutrition Program is ensuring kids don’t go hungry by offering free breakfast and lunch to students ages 0-18.

Free meals are provided for students May 24 to July 28.  View the program dates and times and check listings to find the nearest locations.

EBRPSS Releases Budget Infographic

In an effort to promote transparency and engage the community, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System has recently released a comprehensive infographic outlining its budget highlights for the upcoming school year. The district aims to provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of the financial priorities and initiatives for the education of local students.

Sports Physicals Blitz Summer 2023

To help ensure that our student athletes are ready for summer sports, camps and school athletics, Healthcare Centers in Schools and a host of other providers have coordinated with EBRPSS to host sports physicals at school sites throughout the district.

A completed LHSAA form is required for each student who will need a physical.

2023 Graduation Ceremonies

Thousands of students will walk across the stage in May of 2023 to pick up their high school diplomas on their way to the next stretch of life’s journey. Our hope is that we prepared them well. Our wish is that they enjoyed the ride. Our prayer is that they are successful and happy, that they are lifelong learners, and that they look back with fond memories of their days in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Go on and make us all proud, Class of 2023!

As graduation ceremony recordings become available, videos will be added to the Class of 2023 graduation ceremonies page.

East Baton Rouge Parish School System to Host Spring Fling Recruitment Fair

This spring could be the time to make that journey you’ve been putting off, and our annual Spring Fling recruitment event is a great destination. EBRPSS is here to offer some enticing options in exciting careers.

It’s no secret that the pandemic presented unique challenges to the employee recruitment process for school systems nationwide, but we constantly develop new incentives to entice potential candidates to join our worthy mission. This school year alone, we have hosted 10 similar events and have enrolled 1,200 new employees including 516 teachers.

The 2023 Spring Fling boasts career opportunities in Transportation and Child Nutrition, as well as open positions for paraeducators and certified teachers. Spring Fling will be held this Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Glen Oaks High School, 6650 Cedar Grove Drive.  Our Human Resources staff and school principals will assist job seekers and answer any questions. We also welcome anyone interested in becoming a teacher to attend and learn how to become certified at no cost.

A variety of departments will be represented, including leaders sharing details about salary compensation and benefits. Candidates are encouraged to register online before the job fair, bring copies of résumés and be prepared to interview with our faculties and staff.

Registration has already opened, and applications can be submitted online or by email: www.ebrschools.org; or email recruitment manager Edward Roberts at eroberts@ebrschools.org

Due to the potential for severe inclement weather, East Baton Rouge Parish Schools campuses and offices are closed Wednesday, April 10, 2024, and all activities will be canceled.
