U.S. secretary of education visits Jefferson Terrace

EBR Schools received national attention on Monday, Aug. 11, as Jefferson Terrace Academy hosted U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.

The trip to Louisiana marked the launch of McMahon’s “Returning Education to the States” tour. At Jefferson Terrace, she celebrated the state’s “historic gains” in K–12 education, participated in roundtable discussion and toured classrooms.

East Baton Rouge Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole, state Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley, Sen. Bill Cassidy and Jefferson Terrace Principal Joy Watson joined the classroom tour, showcasing the excellence happening in EBR Schools.
