Erica Courtney is a fifth-grade ELA teacher at Progress Elementary! Southeast Middle School hosted "Literacy and Numeracy Night" to provide parents and students with helpful information and engaging activities to support success on the LEAP. Families explored reading strategies in core classes to strengthen comprehension and writing skills. Students and parents teamed up to compete in fun math games focused on building fluency.👏

STEM meets sports at Park Forest Elementary CSAM!
Former LSU Tiger and NBA player Ronald Dupree is leading an exciting pilot program for 4th and 5th-grade magnet students with ARC Hoops, a web-based platform that brings math and data science concepts to life through basketball. Students engaged with interactive video lessons, data analysis, and friendly classroom challenges, all while strengthening their critical thinking skills and connecting their learning to real-world applications.
Highland Elementary and Sonic on Perkins collaborated with the debut of the school’s very own signature drink, the Roaring Tiger.
Highland ES is the first and only school to have a signature drink with Sonic. Even better, 10 percent of the proceeds from every Roaring Tiger sold go directly back to support the school. This partnership highlights school pride, community support, and creative ways to give back.

Mary Legoria is a Magnet Science Specialist at WHAM! With 23 years at WHAM and 36 years in education, all with EBR, she believes it is important to teach students to care for the earth, understanding that a love for animals and plant life comes full circle. She loves seeing the joy and pride students feel when they grow a plant and considers it her mission to teach compassion that carries into everyday life. She also shares a deep love for WHAM, where her passions are supported.
