The East Baton Rouge Parish School System’s Magnet Mania will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Exhibit Hall at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
The annualrecruiting event helps launch the magnet application period for the 2023-2024 school year and promotes specialized programs in elementary, middle and high schools.
Schools will highlight their programs, ranging from academic magnets to programs offering specialized themes such as medical and pre-engineering. Parents and prospective students will be able to participate in demonstrations and hands-on activities in science, math and technology.
Entertainment from several elementary, middle and high magnet programs will be provided throughout the event, giving parents and students a glimpse into the fine arts offerings from our magnet programs.
Teams from LSU and Southern University will also be available to answer questions about postsecondary opportunities. In addition, parents may pre-apply for a program on-site.
