High praise for high-dosage tutoring. State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley and EBR Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole celebrated on Jan. 31 at Jefferson Terrace Academy to highlight EBR Schools’ successful implementation of state initiatives around high-dosage tutoring.
Jefferson Terrace Principal Joy Watson emphasized the value of high-dosage tutoring, describing it as a “huge amount of prescription instruction directed toward students’ individual needs.”
The instructional model provides students with about 120 minutes of focused support each week to help them prepare for grade-level content in both math and reading.
“We believe that high-dosage tutoring is important. We believe that if students are a little behind in the state of Louisiana, we should be committed to giving them the support that they need,” Brumley said.
Attendees toured classrooms actively utilizing high-dosage tutoring strategies.
