McKinley Elementary honored for impressive performance at National Beta Convention

Congratulations to the McKinley Elementary School Beta Club for its impressive showing at the National Beta Convention in Orlando, Florida, this summer. McKinley represented EBR Schools well at the largest elementary school convention, which included over 8,000 students. The McKinley students were also recognized during the School Board meeting on July 17.

McKinley winners at the National Beta Convention:
1st Place – Academic Fourth Grade Math: Naythan Xu
2nd Place – Performing Arts Duet: Catherine Yang and Amy Wang
2nd Place – Create and Animate: Ethan Schiele, Albert Yang, Yohan Cheriyan, Vedant Gandham
2nd Place – Onsite Painting: Amy Wang
Honorable Mentions and National Exhibitions:
Living Literature – 5th Place at State Level: Arianne Davis, Natalie Zhou, Kennedi Landry, Byron Williams, Dajae Williams, Aniyah Anderson, Ayden Anderson
Meeting of the Minds – National Showcase: Ayden Anderson, Demir Gregoire, Justin Lanes Jr.
Recycle, Reimagine, Recreate – National Showcase: Heaven Thompson, Shari Hitchens, Keyanni’s Britten, Jayla Lathers, Dasiya Smith
Convention Invention – National Showcase: Catherine Yang, Byron Williams, Arianne Davis, and Natalie Zhou.

The accomplishments are a reflection of the Beta Club pillars: achievement, character, leadership and service. Students demonstrated incredible dedication, creativity and perseverance in traveling hundreds of miles to represent McKinley with pride and purpose.
