Glasgow Middle, Arlington Prep Students Place in State Inclusive Arts Contest

Glasgow Middle School’s Ananya Jain and Arlington Prep Academy’s Xzavier Thomas were recognized during the 2025 GOLD (Governor’s Outstanding Leadership in Disabilities) Awards on Dec. 10 at the Old State Capitol.

Ananya earned second place in the seventh-grade inclusive art contest, and Xzavier received an honorable mention in the high school category.

The ceremony was presented by the Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs, which strives to serve as an informational resource for people with disabilities, their families and the agencies that serve them. 

The Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs was established and designed by the Governor’s Office to adequately educate, address and resolve issues relative to the disability community. Its goal is to promote, encourage and support citizens with disabilities so they may have an equal opportunity to actively participate in all aspects of life.
