Congratulations to senior Daviyah Anthony, of Scotlandville Magnet High School, for her selection as a 2025 Gates Scholar!
The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective program established by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for outstanding minority students from low-income backgrounds. The scholarship will allow Daviyah to attend college for free. She'll join an exclusive network of Gates Scholars receiving ongoing personal and professional enrichment, mentorship and additional support throughout college and into her career.
This year, 750 Scholars were selected from over 48,000 applicants nationwide, an acceptance rate of less than 1.6%. Daviyah's achievement reflects her exceptional hard work and determination. Her accomplishment marks the second consecutive year and sixth time overall that a Baton Rouge Youth Coalition Fellow has achieved this honor.
BRYC is grateful for its partnership with EBR Schools
