Capitol High students shared their voices last week during a student forum with Superintendent LaMont Cole and EBR Schools leadership.
The listening session gave students a safe and open space to share their concerns and thoughts about their school experience.
🗓️ Student forums are held quarterly at high schools across the district — with the next one set for Jan. 22 at Belaire High.

The award-winning Famous Singing Pirates of Park Forest Elementary Creative Sciences and Arts Magnet School will perform the national anthem before the New Orleans Pelicans vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game at 7 p.m. Monday at the Smoothie King Center. 🏀

Meeting their tutors face-to-face brought some exciting moments for students at Capitol Elementary on Friday. Eight college tutors from across the country visited campus to meet the students they’ve been working with online this semester through the Teach For America Ignite Fellowship program. These tutors represented eight states, including Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York and Massachusetts. 💛💙

🎯 Games, teamwork and other extracurricular activities brought together students from across the district on Wednesday for the Youth Leadership Summit at the Professional Development Center.
Hosted by the Exceptional Student Services Department, the summit promoted inclusivity inside and outside the classroom and helped unite students with disabilities and their nondisabled peers. I CARE student ambassadors also helped facilitate the day’s activities. The project was funded through a grant awarded by Unified Sports through Special Olympics. 🏅
