The East Baton Rouge Parish School System invites you to join us in a dedication ceremony for the Eva Legard Center for Coastal and Environmental Studies on Thursday, July 19, 2022. We will be dedicating this site and sharing the new opportunities being provided to students, families and the community.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System continues to prioritize safety and security by offering training throughout the summer to prepare school leaders for the upcoming school year. ✨ Lots of fun and smiles at Broadmoor High’s Patriot Day 5K Run & 2K Walk on Saturday. The Broadmoor JROTC hosted the event to bring together students, veterans, military groups and the running community to honor 9/11 victims, families and first responders.

At McKinley High, Capitol Elementary, Melrose Elementary and Park Medical Academy, students joined the EBR Schools Technology Department to sign the Digital Citizenship Pledge and engage in powerful conversations about being safe, respectful and responsible online.

Twin Oaks Elementary Principal Terrie Junda expressed pride that eight different languages are spoken at her school, while Broadmoor Elementary Principal Kalan Jones highlighted her school`s representation of 11 different countries. The two principals on Wednesday welcomed representatives from the Louisiana Department of Education and EBR Schools` ESL Department (English as a Second Language) as part of a statewide effort to strengthen academic and language support for English learners. Visitors observed classrooms and collaborated with district and school staff to learn how students are acquiring both academic content and English language skills simultaneously.
