🎁✨ Gifts rolled in this week through the Adopt an Elf program. Hundreds of generous community members stepped up to "adopt" a student in need, selected gifts from their wish list and dropped them off at the Broadmoor Elementary collection site.
The gifts will be delivered to students next week, spreading warmth, joy, and holiday cheer across our district.

🧥💛A wave of warmth spread from WBRZ to Park Forest Elementary Creative Sciences & Arts Magnet School and beyond on Friday! 🌟 Former WBRZ meteorologist Pat Shingleton hosted his annual Pat’s Coats for Kids campaign outside the WBRZ studios, where representatives from Baton Rouge-area schools picked up bags of jackets to share with students. Later, Shingleton joined EBR Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole at Park Forest to celebrate students receiving their new coats.🧥💛

🎉 Big congratulations to Baton Rouge Magnet High School seniors Khoa Nguyen and Shehzad Mohammad Khan. 🎉Both students have earned prestigious scholarships through the QuestBridge National College Match program, each valued at over $300,000. Nguyen has been awarded a full scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, and Khan has been awarded a full scholarship to Stanford University. QuestBridge National College Match connects high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to the nation’s top colleges. Scholarship recipients receive early admission and a full four-year scholarship to a QuestBridge college partner, ensuring that these students and their families have access to an affordable education at a top college. The Match Scholarship provided by the school comprises a generous financial aid package that covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, housing, food, books and supplies and travel expenses.

Employee Spotlight | Kerry Malter
Malter is a library media specialist, site tech facilitator and PTO president at LaSalle. She has been in education for 24 years, including 12 years in EBR and five years at LaSalle. Malter loves encouraging independence and finds it amazing to see the students` accomplishments throughout the year. She looks forward to coming to work each day and says that LaSalle is a "hidden gem" in the district, one that truly values positive attitudes and doing things for the right reasons.

🎄✨ Our EBR Schools students are sure to shine as bright as Rudolph`s nose in Playmakers of Baton Rouge`s musical production of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." This holiday classic is directed by Baton Rouge Magnet High`s talented drama teacher, Joni Duhe. The show poster was designed by McKinley Middle talented drama teacher Shane Stewart. 🎄
