Twin Oaks Elementary Principal Terrie Junda expressed pride that eight different languages are spoken at her school, while Broadmoor Elementary Principal Kalan Jones highlighted her school`s representation of 11 different countries. The two principals on Wednesday welcomed representatives from the Louisiana Department of Education and EBR Schools` ESL Department (English as a Second Language) as part of a statewide effort to strengthen academic and language support for English learners. Visitors observed classrooms and collaborated with district and school staff to learn how students are acquiring both academic content and English language skills simultaneously.

While National Grandparents’ Day was officially observed on Sept. 7, EBR Schools extended the celebration with a day designed to bring families together around the lunch table. 🍽️👵👴
